April 26, 2010 – Mark your calendars to visit with us in person or to hear us on the air. Wind energy developer Power Company of Wyoming will be participating in a series of community education and outreach opportunities over the next few weeks.
Wednesday, April 28: The Voices of the Valley speaker series this week will focus on “Energy: Water, Wind, Wildlife and Wells.” PCW will be participating on a panel that also includes representatives from the Rawlins BLM Field Office, Wyoming Game and Fish, University of Wyoming and others. Come ask questions and share your support for wind power’s ability to diversify, complement and expand Wyoming’s energy economy. The event is 7 p.m.-9 p.m. in Saratoga at the Platte Valley Community Center.
Thursday, April 29: PCW will be a guest on the morning show at KTGA Bigfoot 99.3 FM in Saratoga. Tune in between 8:15 a.m.-8:25 a.m. for PCW’s conversation with radio host Jim O’Reilly.
Friday-Saturday, May 14-15: PCW will once again be sponsoring and participating in Carbon County Higher Education Center’s “Celebration of Wind,” held this year at the Rawlins Recreation Center. Stop by our booth on Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. to learn more about the Chokecherry and Sierra Madre Wind Energy Project and the economic and environmental benefits it will bring to Wyoming. The family-friendly event includes a fun attempt to get as many kites in the air as possible, starting at 2 p.m.
These activities are part of the company’s ongoing efforts to share information and answer people’s questions about its 2,000-3,000 megawatt wind power project, including holding two community open houses in March. For more information about PCW’s wind project, visit www.powercompanyofwyoming.com.
